This community center amenities include a kitchen/cafeteria, classrooms, two playgrounds and a nature trail. A new gymnasium is now open and includes tennis courts and other amenities.

Free-Play Tennis
Come out and enjoy a game of tennis. First-come, first-serve. Courts are open Monday-Friday from 2:00-9:00 pm; Saturday from 9:00 am-6:00 pm; and Sunday from 2:00-5:00 pm. Ask for the key inside gymnasium.


Gym Walking
9:00 - 11:00 am. Walk safely in a comfortable environment! Bring your friends! The gymnasium is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for walkers. Join the walking club and receive free incentives for mileage walked.


Mall Walkers Program
Come out and walk for your health in a safe climate controlled enviornment. Also a great way to meet new friends. There are two programs offered-one at Columbia Place Mall and Mid-town at Forest Acres. You can walk anytime the mall is open and track your mileage for small incentives. Programs are sponsored by each mall, Providence Hospital, and the Richland County Recreation Commission. Columbia Place group meets once a month for a breakfast on the 1st Wednesday monthly; $1/person. Mid-town at Forest Acres group meets for breakfast on the 2nd Thursday monthly. $2/person


Social for Adults with Disabilities
7:00 - 9:30 pm. Ages 18+ . 3rd Friday monthly. Adults gather at Denny Terrace for fun social activities including movies, cards, music, and dancing. This is open to all adults with disabilities. Enjoy a night out with friends. Call 754-6720 to register by the Wednesday before. $3/person

Youth Summer Basketball
3:00 - 10:00 pm. Ages 4 to 14 . Register April 14-May 17. Summer basketball leagues start in June (August 6th age cut off). All participants must complete registration form and submit a copy of child's birth certificate with payment. All players will go through a draft process for balance of teams. No team registrations will be accepted. Business Sponsorship is only $150/team and is a great way to show support for your community! Please contact the Athletic Department if interested in sponsoring a team: 754-7275 ext. 225. You can also contact the above parks with any questions. Volunteer coaches are welcomed and needed. All coaches will go through a background screening process and must be currently certified or become certified in basketball with the NYSCA. The NYSCA coaches training is conducted by Recreation Commission staff prior to the season. $40/child

Ballet Basics
Thursday, 6:00 - 7:00 pm. Ages 5 to 10 . Co-ed ballet basics. Students need ballet slippers, leotard and tights. There will be a dance recital at the end of the program. Register at any time. $30/month


Jujitsu for Youth
Ages 8 to 12 . Mondays & Wednesdays 6:00-7:00 pm and Saturday 10:00-11:00 am. Jujitsu encompasses strikes, throws, chokes, ground defense, submission holds, and escapes. Jujitsu is an extremely effective self defense style. $40/month


Summer Afternoons
12:00 - 6:00 pm. Ages 6 to 14 . June 9- August 1. Children will participate in age-appropriate and innovative outdoor and indoor games, and creative crafts that will be brought home to you by your smiling campers. Trained, caring counselors will supervise the children each day, helping them build character and confidence while also enhancing social skills through participation in exciting, educational, and interactive activities. This program is for boys and girls who are rising 1st through 8th graders in the fall of 2008. Registration begins April 14. A minimum number of paid participants are required at each location the Friday before the week of camp in order for the camp to be held. We will continue to take registration throughout the summer on a space available basis. $15 Registration Fee. Camp will not be held on July 4. Weekly fee $35.
