About Us
The Richland County
Recreation Foundation (RCRF) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization,
created by the Richland County Recreation Commission (RCRC), whose
sole purpose is to support the mission, purposes and activities of the
Recreation Commission. The RCRF, which received IRS tax-exempt status
in August 2004, supports the RCRC by securing funds to help meet the
recreation needs of county residents. Foundations are quite common
because they enable agencies to meet service demands. In our
community, most people are familiar with the "Friends of the Richland
County Library" or the "Riverbanks Zoo Society." Just as the library
and zoo have non-profit organizations to support their mission, the
RCRC also has a non-profit, the Richland County Recreation Foundation.
Our Mission:
To develop, assist, promote, partner, and
strengthen the quality of recreation activities for the people served
by the Richland County Recreation Commission, through the use of the
highest standards of philanthropy.
The RCRF can receive cash donations, deeded
property, or other contributions such as equipment, materials, grants,
and in-kind services. All gifts are acknowledged with an official
letter that can serve as documentation for possible tax deductions.
