Hello and welcome to the Richland County Recreation Commission (RCRC) website! As an award-winning agency, we take a great deal of pride in providing you with a wide variety of recreational programs and services to enhance the quality of life for all. On behalf, of 145 full-timers, 200+ seasonal employees and the commissioners, I hope you enjoy the newly designed website and more importantly take the opportunity to experience first hand what we have to offer.

To get started, take a moment to check out the interactive map on the HOME page. With a simple click, you can now find and learn more about each park and/or facility throughout the County. As you will discover, we have (41) sites and they all have one goal in mind… to provide something for everyone.

We offer a variety of programs to elevate your overall fitness levels, improve your sports skills; stimulate the mind through education and cultural experiences; inspire civic pride through community based activities and give you plenty of opportunities to volunteer your time and talents.

The benefits associated with the RCRC delivery system include:

  • • Opportunities for Fun and Celebration
  • • Alleviating Social Problems and Stress
  • • Encouraging Personal Development
  • • Improving Health and Wellness
  • • Fostering Lifelong Learning
  • • Supporting Economic Development
  • • Increasing Inclusiveness and Cultural Unity
  • • Promoting Environmental Stewardship
  • • Strengthening the Counties Image and Sense of Place
  • • Providing a High Return on the Community’s Investment

Participating in community-based activities are many, but in my opinion the best reason to get involved is to meet people with similar interests.

As the demand for Parks and Recreation increases, our staff is dedicated to provide the best possible customer service, activities and facilities for your enjoyment. In short, we have a vision to develop the ideal community through people, parks and programs.

To learn more about our programs and special events, take a look at our PROGRAM pages. Stay current on our strategic priorities visit the ABOUT US page, and to see the progress being made on all the construction projects, visit our GROWTH page – all made possible by the $50 million dollar bond… your tax dollars at work.

As you familiarize yourself with the wealth of information outlined on the webpages, I hope it motivates you to get out into the fresh air, enjoy a walk in the park, play a sport, exercise a little more, take the children to the playground or just find some shade and read.

The Richland County Recreation Commission (RCRC) is a special purpose district that is dedicated to serving people and reaching the goals and objectives set-forth by everyone who lives in our community. With that being said, we encourage you to stay in touch because on-going public input is what will help us stay focus as we strive to make Richland County “A place where everyone has a chance to play”.

In great health,

Mr. Brian J. Devost, M.S.Ed.
