Our Projects

Grant Projects in Progress:

Pine Grove Rosenwald School
Grants for this project were secured from the South Carolina Community Competitive Grant Program, Richland County Conservation Commission, and the Lowe's Charitable and Educational Preservation Fund.

Preservation of this important historic Rosenwald School began several years ago, with the result that a new roof truss system, metal roofing, and reproduction windows have been installed.

This year, work will replace/restore the exterior siding of the building, including adding sheathing and insulation, painting, installation of heating and air conditioning, a new ADA ramp and handrails, and enclosing the open area beneath the building.

Additional funds will be sought to refinish the interior of the school, develop the curriculum, and to search for and secure appropriate furnishings.

DONATIONS OF TYPICAL FURNISHINGS FOR THE PERIOD – DESKS, SLATE BOARDS, SCHOOL BOOKS, REPORT CARDS, ETC. – ARE BEING SOUGHT.  PLEASE CONTACT THE FOUNDATION.
