Summer Camp University 2010! A Workshop for Camp Administrators & Counselors

Are you planning to offer a Summer Camp? Do you need DSS certified training hours? Would you like to expand your knowledge and skills? This workshop will help those who are running the camps as well as the many counselors working with the children at the summer camp!
Topics of discussion will be Safety First; Nutrition; Living your Best Life; Art Works; The Serious Business of Play; There’s No “I” in Team; and Say What You Mean, Mean What You Say. The Richland County Recreation Commission is excited about offering this training opportunity and encourages anyone working in summer camps, day cares, and specialty camps to participate. All sessions are DSS certified, and counts towards needed training hours. Don’t miss this affordable opportunity! The Recreation Commission traditionally offers great summer programs which provide children and young teens with unique and affordable opportunities. Enjoy fun summer activites in a safe environment with trained staff. We’ll go swimming, go on exciting field trips, get creative with arts and crafts and there may even be a few fun surprises.
CAMP WOW 2010! has three programs and allows families to choose the best plan for them. You can even choose to attend different programs throughout the summer, as long as space is available. And some camps, such as our ‘Playgrounds’ and ‘Summer Afternoons’, when available at the same location, can be combined for a full day of fun! Here is a list of Camps and locations:

June 7-August 13, Monday-Friday,
7:30 am-6:00 pm, $20 registration fee; $80/weekly.

Registration for all CAMP WOW! programs begins April 19, 2010 at the site you wish to attend, with the exception of the Crossroads/Goodwill program – call the office for those arrangements. CAMP WOW! registration continues throughout the summer if space is available; however, we suggest everyone register early because some locations may fill up quickly!
