Introduction to Computers
Come discover computers with us! We’ll introduce you to basic computer terminology, the basic components of a PC, and peripherals including printers and scanners. Learn how to:
- tell the difference between hardware and software
- use the mouse—when to left-click, right-click, and double click
- manage Windows and organize your files using folders
- customize your Windows environment while having fun with desktops and wallpaper
Keyboarding
This class is for anyone who wants to improve their typing speed and accuracy. You’ll also learn how to use the numerical keypad.
This is a self-paced class and is available throughout the month. Call to schedule the time that’s most convenient for you!
Microsoft Word
Learn how to use Microsoft Word, one of the most popular word processing applications used today. This class will show you how to create professional-looking documents for the office or home. You will learn the basics of word processing and much more, such as:
- what a template is and how to use it
- how to set up and print labels and envelopes from a mailing list
- how to change your document’s appearance using Format Painter
- using set up tables
- how to import existing tables from other Microsoft applications
Microsoft Excel
Discover how easy it is to create professional-looking spreadsheets with Excel's formatting and charting capabilities. You’ll learn:
- how to work with data forms
- how to use formatting to make data entry quicker and easier
- how to create formulas that do your math for you
- how to sort a list
- how to use functions like SUM, AVERAGE, DATE
Microsoft PowerPoint
PowerPoint is a presentation/slide show application that will help you organize your speeches and better convey your ideas to your audience. Discover how to create eye-catching presentations that will keep your audience enthralled. You will learn how to:
- use Speaker Notes to create an outline for your speech
- create handouts for your audience
- emphasize your main ideas using fonts
- get your point across with charts, photos, and artwork
Digital Photography

- scan or download your photos to your computer
